Happy Thanksgiving!
To all of my American friends I wish you a heartfelt “Happy Thanksgiving”. In the spirit of the holiday I want to list all that I am thankful for today. Funny, I woke up thinking about these things this morning instead of all that is wrong with my life. What a nice change.
I am thankful:
- that my husband finds a reason to get out of bed every day and soldier on through his pain
- for my children and their tolerance of my long work days and all of our extra added responsibilities in our lives
- my best friend received a second chance with a positive health diagnosis - I don’t know what I would do without her
- for my internet friends - especially the ones that continue to reach out to me even though my presence here has been less than sporadic
- that my mother’s doctors seem to have finally gotten her medications figured out and that she’s in better spirits than she has been in over a year
- that my family always includes my stepdaughter in family gatherings no matter her past infractions - they really try to show her the true meaning of ‘family’
- that my mother-in-law’s health is improving and that she will be released from the hospital tomorrow
- that I get to have Thanksgiving dinner 2 days in a row
Whatever you’re doing today celebrating or otherwise - please take a moment to give some serious thought to what you’re thankful for, count your blessings. For they are many and sometimes we forget to acknowledge them. Have a wonderful, thankful day.
