A Good Day

January 5, 2005 |

A couple of nice things happened to me today.

First one of my daycare parents was dropping off her friend’s son this morning when she suddenly said to me

“You look like you could use a hug. Sometimes a hug can make all the difference.”

The she hugged me. Tight. And said

“You know there are a lot of poeple thinking about you and hoping everything is okay. You are loved.”

And with that she left. I don’t even know her very well. Her own son hasn’t been in my care for very long and has only been here a couple hours a day at most. And yet her act made me feel as special and loved and looked after and cared for as your comments have these last few days. I was taken aback and pleased. I felt good after that encounter.

The other nice thing that happened to me today?

The salesman at Gateway comped me overnight shipping on my new laptop when I griped about how long it was taking to ship it out to me. I’m such a whiner

Isn’t it amazing the way people sometimes just know exactly what you need?
I’m thinking of you Julie, and thinking good thoughts.

One of my daycare moms left me a little note in her son’s bag awhile back just out of the blue, telling me how much she appreciates me and how the little extras I do for them mean so much. It absolutely was exactly what I needed that day! God knows just when to send things like that on to us!
