Afternoon Funk
Afternoons are always the most difficult for me at work. Does this happen to anyone else? I get to work between 7:30 and 7:45 each morning and usually by 2pm I’m done. I’ve taken 30 minutes for lunch and have left the building but for some reason I can’t re-focus when I’m back. I’m not willing to stop leaving for lunch as that time is spent with my husband. We work around the corner from one another and make a point to eat together most of the time. It’s the only alone time we ever seem to get – crammed into 30 minutes – filling our faces…
Anyway, back to the part where I ask you for your help. If you have a time of day where you have a really hard time focusing please share your tricks and tips for getting back on track. I’m losing a valuable opportunity to be productive but I just can’t seem to pull myself together most days. Taking work home is not an option I will consider as that is my time to be Mommy. And besides, my husband would also have a fit since he doesn’t get this whole “salaried-employee-work-as-many-hours-as-you’re-told-and-like-it” job description that I currently have.
Oh and just as an aside, it appears to be de-lurking day in some parts of the blogosphere so I followed instructions and de-lurked on blogs I read through my feed reader and guess who I got a comment from? Zoot herself! I have been reading her blog for the last couple of years (WOW!) and she is a fantastically funny, sweet, relatable woman. If you’ve never read her blog before – go there – now – you won’t regret it.
