Busy Day

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!

The husband and I have a busy day ahead of us today. He ordered some more wholesale items for resale and we have to drive to Albany NY (2 hours each way) to pick them up. My stepdaughter is coming over to hang out with the kids for us so that he and I can go together. Since money is squeaky tight this year we figure that will be our Valentine’s gifts for each other, a day together just the two of us.

Today also marks our engagement anniversary. 15 years ago my husband came home from work with a bouquet of the most beautiful red roses, chocolates and a diamond ring. We had talked about getting married before but nothing serious. Well he took it seriously that day. We were married a year and a half later and while we have had some major rocky roads in our marriage I do not regret marrying him at all.

My son was supposed to be born on Valentines Day too. We always thought it would be so cool for him, our first child together, to be born on the day we got engaged but it was not to be. He was a week late and has been running behind ever since.

But please take a moment and remember the real reason for Valentine’s Day - to celebrate love. Not with gifts but with acknowledgment of those things your beloved does for you or others that makes them so special. What is it that makes your heart melt? Think about it, make a list and be sure and share it with them - it will make for a beautiful day, for them and for you.

    happy valentines and happy engagement anniversary too!

    I guess your son wanted his own special day. LOL.

    Our 15 year engagement anniversary is on the 16th, so we got engaged almost at the same time!
