Countdown

February 11, 2008 |

I have been so slamming busy with work that Saturday was the first day I had off in over two weeks. To say that my husband was not happy would be an understatement. We have had some major crises at my job that have consumed my every waking moment and it has been exhausting. I mean the kind of crisis that has been in the news and I have been interviewed for the newspaper - a really big deal. And if you consider that I work in a high school - you know that it can’t be good. And it wasn’t. And that’s all I can say about it.

So at least I got a break this weekend. And I made a real dent in getting the house better organized and my days and nights too. I made some progress on the laundry front - which with 6 people to do laundry for is a real coup. It’s funny how domestic responsibilities can put things in perspective though. Major crisis with the potential to shut down the institution you’ve been trying so hard to save - and yet the laundry lives on. The beds still need to be changed. The rugs still need to be vacuumed. Life goes on.

Things are very uncertain - I’m polishing off my resume in anticipation of the worst. I am physically and emotionally drained. One great thing about working for a school though - I get a vacation next week when my kids do. So only 5 days to get through and then I am on vacation from the bloody job for 9 whole days (yes I am counting the weekends) and I so deserve the break.

Wow, that has to be really tough. Well I hope you do get to TOTALLY relax during your vacation. You better do some fun stuff and not just house work the entire time, lol!

If you are hinting that the business you are working for could be closing then that could be a good thing for you. You need some time to breathe girl!
I’ve been making preparations for myself here and have some other options in the making…will keep you posted.

Candi - there is no danger of me doing housework for my entire vacation. LOL

Amy - The business closing is a distinct possibility and I’m trying to figure out what else to do. I really need to figure out just what I want to do when I grow up. LOL I’m excited to hear what you’ve got up your sleeve. Keep me posted!
