Dad’s Got His Truck Back…
It’s 8:50pm and the kids and I just got home from the in-laws. My mother-in-law’s husband did all of the repairs on my husbands truck for the cost of the parts and a very nominal amount of money for the labor. We kicked him a little bit more out of respect and thanks. The most important part - DAD’S GOT HIS TRUCK BACK (sung in a sing songy voice)!!! Which means I don’t have to drive round trip to our neighboring town 25 times a day when I need the van anymore. Woot! Woot! I don’t know how families survive with only one vehicle.
See what I got yesterday:

Ain’t it purty? LOL We have needed a gravy boat for the longest time. The best part? I paid $1.00 for it. Seriously, I found it at the Dollar Store. I’m taking budgeting to a whole new level. Oh and yes, that is my little wine rack in the background lacking a few bottles. And that is also my 1970’s avocado green counter tops with lovely floral wallpaper. Wasn’t the former homeowner a fabulous decorator? Ick!
I received my unemployment determination in the mail today and it’s not quite as much as we thought it would be by about $60 a week. *gulp* I’m appealing the method they used to make the determination because they aren’t counting the first quarter’s earnings this year even though I’ve been paid through the end of March by my former employer. I’m not even eligible to start collecting unemployment until April 1st. Hopefully that will help a little.
Okay, off to put the little girls to bed and then watch one of my guilty pleasures, AI. I know, I know.

That’s neat about your truck, at least you can get out of the house when you want now
and I DO like the gravy boat you found - what a bargain!
