Feeling Like Dog Doo

June 15, 2004 |

I have been feeling like crap for the last few days and I have no idea what’s wrong with me. It might be allergies, sinuses who knows? I don’t have any insurance so, unless I’m quite sure I’m dying, I will have to heal myself. All I know is my head hurts, my neck aches and my right arm and right leg ache so bad it’s hard to even lift them. No workouts, no laundry. Oh and did I mention that my skin is super itchy? Weird, weird. Ok, enough whining.

So, let’s see, what have I been up to these last few days. About 5′4″. ROFL Remember that joke? I know it still sucks. ;) On Saturday Jeff took Nick out in the boat with a couple of the guys from work. A real man’s day out fishing. I stayed here with the girls, got up at the butt crack of dawn to clean the house for a daycare interview that never showed up, and spent the rest of the day hanging out, reading my book. I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed reading but now that Lauren is 1 and getting older by the minute, I’m finding more times for things like books again.

The guys got home around 3pm and we hung out on the deck for a few hours, drinking a few cold ones, just a Smirnoff Ice Twisted Raspberry for me – yes Michele it does suck getting old and responsible. Grocery shopping and a clambake for supper rounded off a perfect day.

On Sunday I spent the afternoon with my one friend that I’ve kept over the years. She and I have known each other since 1st grade became the best of friends in 7th grade and still see each other as often as we can today now that we’re old and crotchety. :P We had lunch at Applebee’s, which sucked by the way - do not waste your hard-earned money there, ran a few errands and then went for a long walk about town.

We stopped in the health food store, I replenished my supply of Soy Crisps grabbed a flyer for my next visit and on to the Co-op we went. Know what I love about these stores? The produce is to die for. The red fruits and veggies are actually red, not orange like the crap in the grocery store. The greens are green, dark, rich and vibrant not pea soup colored as in your local chain food store. I love these places, crunchy granola that I am :)

Came home to a grumpy husband and even grumpier kids but they had our pool set up so who cares? LOL Our neighbors actually gave us one of those 15′ EZ Set pools for free. Nothing, nada, zero, zippo, zilch. Free. The kids can hardly stand waiting for the water to get warm enough to go swimming. Tonight is the designated “First Swim Night” so we’ll see how that goes. Wish me luck and throw me one of those useless little rings on a rope, k?
