Fly Droppings
March 30, 2005 |
One by one they’re going down. First Elizabeth and Lauren were sick, now it’s Olivia’s turn. She woke me up at 5am this morning telling me her tummy hurt and it’s all been down hill from there.
It’s funny how the girls all handle being sick so differently. Lauren, at a mere 2 years old, doesn’t even slow down. She races around, stops to throw up wherever the mood suits her and continues on about her play. Elizabeth at a mere 1 year older than Lauren whines incessantly. She must get that from her Father. Olivia at a stellar 5 years old gets pissed.
Olivia is our “spirited” child. She has a strong personality - one to be reckoned with most days - and we don’t try to stifle it much. She’s not afraid to tell you what she thinks, she’s not afraid to tell you what to do. She’s a natural leader and I envy her that confidence. She is the child that when you tell her she’s smart and beautiful she says “I know”.
Today she is pounding her little fist on the toilet seat cursing it for being necessary to hang her head over. She’s cursing her hair that keeps getting in her face. She’s cursing the fates that made her sick in the first place. And I know if fates were palpable she would kick their ass.
So I wonder who’s going to be next? Nicholas? The hubs (the whiniest sick bay patient I have ever attended)? Or *gulp* me? Pray for Mommy protection force field.

Oh my! Sorry to hear that you are surrounded by the pukes! Hopefully the rest of you will be able to avoid it. Heaven forbid Hubby gets sick… MEN and SICK do not belong in the same sentence, because MEN+SICK=WHINE. ROFL
Hope the girls feel better soon!!
FLY DROPPINGS…..ROFLMBO!!!
Poor kiddos
I thought I would hop by and wave hello to ya!
Huggers and hang in there!
Oh my… poor babies and poor mommy…. your Olivia sounds like my Bethany (middle child) She’s spirited and not afraid to tell anyone off that ticks her off. LOL…And getting sick doesn’t really slow her down a whole lot either. And she is also the first to set up a table beside your bed with glass of water, crackers, kleenex, thermometer and whatever else she can think of to make you feel better!
My oldest just lays down and dies if she gets sick. My youngest is more like the oldest but not to quite the same extreme…
hope you ALL are better asap
Now I can relate to Olivia 100%. Its my way to curse my way through through sickness as well.
Run mom run! That’s the only thing that can save you now!
Sorry everyone’s getting sick. That’s no fun. Your only hope is to leave them in your husband’s care and go check into a hotel for the rest of the week.
Hmmm, room service and a big bed. Maid service, cable TV, internet connection. No raising your voice, no messes . . .
