Remember how yesterday I said I needed to paint my walls so they’d be ready for Angela’s beautiful photo? Well guess where we went today - Lowes! And we bought 8 gallons of paint. We are finally painting the walls in the entryway, living room, dining room and best of all we are peeling off the nasty wallpaper in the kitchen and painting those walls too. I can’t wait! I have wanted colors on these gross white walls for years. But my husband had been resistant to the idea. He’s convinced the rooms will look too small. But he finally gave in and today we went and blew a few hundred bucks. We’ll start next weekend. The only hitch is the other renovations we have to do in each room before we paint. But at least by going to the store today and making the purchases we did, we now have the motivation to move forward.
We even picked out some ceramic tile for the entryway floor and in another month or two we’ll be buying wood laminate flooring. We picked out one we liked and figured out the cost and how much we’ll need to save and how long it will take. Won’t be long. I have hated the upstairs in this house for so long. 12 years to be exact. When we bought this house the downstairs was newly finished and they used good quality carpet and doors and wood on the walls. But the upstairs was stuck in 1972. While we’ve replaced the avocado green appliances we haven’t done much else.
That my friends is all about to change.
