Huh?

Hubs has been working super hard on a side project for his boss this week. It’s been grueling work and he’s exhausted but the carrot has been dangling in front of his face. A $500 bonus for on-time completion with yesterday as the deadline. Well, he made it and received his bonus in cash.

Now it’s not uncommon for him to bitch about never having enough money, always being broke, feeling like he works for nothing, yada yada yada. So $500 in cash in his pocket is a big deal to hear him talk about how little money he has.

So what does he do with this new found wealth? Does he buy himself some new hunting clothes for the turkey hunting trip he’s going on next week? No. Does he get himself a new shotgun like he’s been talking about? No. Does he get himself anything? No.

He hands the bonus to me and says “Why don’t you get yourself some things when you’re out shopping with the kids tomorrow. You need new clothes and shoes. Everything you have is falling apart”. (Which is true - I suffer from mommy martyr syndrome). “Oh, and why don’t you take the kids out for lunch too.”

So the man that bitches about never having any money to have fun with and do what he wants with - gave it all to me.

And they say women send mixed signals.
