I’m Addicted to the Library
Yesterday was library day. Every Wednesday afternoon I take my kids and the children in my daycare to our local library to pick out a new book or two. Every time we go I end up finding a book for myself too. This past week I read Gap Creek, one of those books I had wanted to read for a long time but never got around to doing so. When I saw it at the library I had to grab it; even though I have a bunch of books at home waiting to be read.
So anyway, back to yesterday. I was returning Gap Creek and decided I was NOT taking out any new books as we are leaving on vacation soon, I wouldn’t be home to return them, and I have a bunch of books at home waiting to be read. Did I mention that? So we find books for all of the children and walk up to the desk to check them out and what do I spy out of the corner of my eye? The Da Vinci Code. I have been dying to read that book. So many people have told me how good it was and how I have to read it and then yesterday – there it was – beckoning to me “Julie – take me home – read me – renew me – take me to the beach with you.” So I did.
What? Don’t books talk to you too?

Yeah, and actually a book on your "Waiting on the bookshelf" column had a book on that spoke to me, This Day I found it at the library and read most of it. Pretty good. As I read while I exercised, I realized that many of my thoughts and feelings are the same as other women.

I love our local library too and find myself bringing home new reads almost daily… it also helps that I work for it
