Music to My Ears
October 24, 2004 |
Music is back in my life and I couldn’t be happier. When the sd still lived at home 3 years ago she blew the speakers to our stereo when she was home alone one afternoon jamming away. It would have cost us over $300 to have them repaired or even more to replace them. They were top of the line Yamaha speakers that so nicely complemented the Yamaha components Jeff had collected over the years. I added a 5 disc CD player and the set was complete. And oh how I’ve missed it over the last 3 years.
Well yesterday I got a surprise. New speakers. Sd’s mother owed her some money and offered her the speakers to sell in lieu of repayment. She took them and then offered them to her Dad in lieu of money she has owed us for a long time. Jeff had her bring them to me and I must admit I dropped everything and set them up right away.
I have always loved music and while my tastes used to be quite contemporary they have migrated to classical and New Age. I loaded up the CD player and the sweet sounds filled the house for the rest of the afternoon. I could see that the kids really enjoyed listening to the different pieces too. They were happy, content and relatively quiet for them. After all, they do say it soothes the savage beast ![]()

Have funwith the new speakers!
My husband is crazy about hi-fi equipment and good music. There is ALWAYS something on here. Good music but sometimes I long for quiet.
