Music

Do you have certain songs you listen to at particular times? Songs that motivate you or relax you? Music is a huge part of my life. I love to listen to music. And I enjoy most every genre. Country is not up there amongst my top choices but I’m sure there are some very good artists that I would like. My son likes Godsmack - me not so much, it’s a bit harsh for my tastes. But I don’t censor his music - much. He is only allowed to listen to edited versions of songs but there’s not much restriction beyond that. My parents never said anything about my music growing up beyond “Turn it down!” and I don’t feel I was damaged by my choices.
I listen to upbeat music when I clean. It motivates me to get up and get going and clean the house with fervor so I don’t feel like I spent the day doing it. I listen to jazz typically when I cook dinner. It is so relaxing at the end of the day when I’m worn out from chasing kids but need that last push to get through to bed time. When I write you can find me listening to some New Age Instrumental music or classical music. It really helps me to focus - I don’t get distracted, so blog posts and journal entries flow better from my brain.
My son seems to like music as much as I do. Recently he saved up his money and bought himself an MP3 player.

The day it arrived in the mail I registered us for one of those music subscription services where you pay one monthly price and can download an unlimited number of songs. Nick was so excited when he got home and found out his new toy had arrived. I told him I had signed him up at the music site and he went right to work building his playlist. We transferred the songs to his MP3 player and off he went. As I was checking out the site I realized that I too could download music and build an extensive library on my laptop. I set to work, grabbed my earphones and now more often than not you will see me “plugged in” to my computer whenever I’m working on it.
There was a part of me though that felt restricted. Laptop speakers are not the greatest sound quality, so removing the earphones does not exactly produce desired results. I did a little investigating and imagine my delight when I found this wonderful little adapter. At Radio Shack no less! For only $7.99!

How awesome. We have done something similar with our surround sound.
I love my Ipod too. I lent it to my neighbor and I am really missing it
