My Poor Overloaded Calendar

April 7, 2007 |

You know why parents need a flexible work schedule? Their calendar. Or more specifically their kids’ calendar.

Each week my kids bring home a newsletter from their school. It has some general information and dates of upcoming events.

Between my 3 children that are in school or entering school in the fall I just put 14 things on my calendar for the next 2 months. Everything from concerts to fundraisers. Brunches to lunches. Lake Day. Graduation. Kindergarten screening. Information night prior to and about kindergarten screening.

What would I do if I still worked outside the home? I need to get a flexible, work-at-home job if I want to keep up. I still have a child not even in school yet. Can you imagine when she starts? My Outlook calendar will self-destruct from system overload.

About the same way I’m going to feel by mid-June.

I know what you mean…simply overwhelming, isn’t it? Then of course, you can throw in all the extras like soccer and swimming lessons and birthday parties. What’s a mom to do?!!

And by the way, I love the new look!
