Nanny 911

January 6, 2005 |

Sometimes I watch that show and think “Oh those poor parents haven’t got a clue” and shake my head in disbelief at the adults that allow their children to run their households ragged. All I ever see on these shows is mayhem, chaos and violence.

Of course then I catch myself uttering something like “Elizabeth do not color on the television with your crayons!”

Hmm, Nanny Stella or Nanny Yvonne?

One of my Brownie moms was telling me about that show just last night. It sounds like all it would do is piss me off! I simply cannot handle complete uncontrolled chaos! Yes, I run a home daycare, and yes my life is continually in chaos, but it’s a controlled chaos, I swear! I saw the commercials to that show and just the commercials made me want to scream. I am not saying I run a military operation, but my kids and my daycare kids are pretty well behaved for the most part. At least in public where it matters! LOL

As a parent you say things you never dreamed you would. I found myself uttering “Sam, for the LOVE of God please do not hit your sister with that cassette tape anymore!” If you were choosing a weapon, would YOU choose a cassette tape? Methinks not. Go for the plastic light saber or even the empty wrapping paper tube, but a cassette tape??? I also once told my oldest, after she had stuck a button up her nose, to “Blow like you’ve got poison boogers in there!” It takes creativity, at the very least.

    Kids are great.

Mike gets so mad when we watch that show. I’ve never heard the man cuss like he does when we watch Nanny 911.
Sometimes I have to believe that they kids are playing it up for the cameras. Really. Who would let their kids act that way?
