No Rest for the Cluttered

December 3, 2006 |

So I fell short on the whole NaBloPoMo thing. I just couldn’t get over the perpetual brain cramp. In the interest of moving on with things I thought I’d share what I’m up to today. Yesterday ended up being my day of rest as I’m fighting a cold and it’s winning.

Today besides laundry and general picking up I’m working on some of the clutter and mess that has taken over my house too. I started small with our entry way. This area is one of my pet peeves because everyone just piles their stuff on the floor. They claim there’s never any room for their coats, etc. Here’s what I started with

And then after sorting, putting away fall weight clothes, throwing out the old shoes that don’t fit anyone anymore and labeling each coat hook for the kids I ended up with this:

Ahhhh…

Your “clutter” now looks well organized.

I’m on week two of a cold - first one I’ve had in about ten years. They are just awful.

Job well done! I am a “clutter-phobic”, so I can empathize with your need to straighten that area up! I hope you are feeling better and winning the battle with the cold! Hugs! :)

Isn’t it funny how an uncluttered space can make you suddenly be able to breathe a littl deeper?

    Nice!

Now if you’re lucky (and not anything like me), it’ll actually stay that way for OVER 30 SECONDS.

big improvement!! perhaps a shelf and some bins over the hooks to put their stuff in might help keep them organized too!
