:sun2-ani: Wow have the last few days been busy. First and foremost I want to thank everyone that stopped by and left me such good advice and compliments on the daycare web site and to me personally. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have you guys tell me that you would happily bring your kids to my home and allow me to care for them. I really do love what I do even though life can get pretty stressful and crazy sometimes :)

On the daycare front I have had 2 interviews since my ad hit on Friday. One was with this beautiful little 11-month old girl and she was just so sweet. She not only let me hold her but she just nestled right into me and sat on my lap smiling and talking to me for the last half of our interview. She’ll start coming one day a week for a few months and then transition to 3 days and then eventually 5. While it’s not an immediate fill, you have to watch out for those that satisfy instant gratification.

I also got a call today for after school care starting in the fall. My neighbor is a preschool teacher at a rather “schwanky” Child Care Center about 40 minutes from here and she has been giving my name out to prospective parents. She told me that she has heard me with the children and that I “have a wonderful way with them”. Word of mouth like that is gold and will lead to full daycare slots. You only get out of it what you put in it and I’m so glad I decided to refocus my energies. It’s paying off already :)

Other than that Jeff and I have been busy doing a bunch of yard work. Lots of raking and planting grass seed and starting to think about what we’re going to plant for flowers this year. I’ve never really been into it before this year but for some reason it’s just different. I just want to do, do, do. Not how I used to be. Lots of changes in me going on and it’s refreshing.
