We just got home not too long ago from my parents house and let me tell you what an adventure that trip was. Trying to get 4 kids all packed up for the day and out of here all by myself took so long. I had to pull over on more than one occasion on the way there to find a lost pacifier or a dropped crayon - you know “it’s my favorite crayon. I can’t color with any of the others”. They are lucky we all survived the 2 1/2 hour trip. Got some groovy things for my birthday presents - a couple of shirts, some cash from my parents and my aunt got me an autographed copy of The Snipers Wife . The author’s one of my favorite mystery writers and his books are fairly popular, at least around here :) Very thoughtful gift.

Jeff brought me home a new swing last night. It is a super deluxe, battery operated, voice activiated model that has a mobile overhead. Lauren just sits in it in awe over the sheer opulence compared to the rusty old wind up model that Jeff pitched the other night. This thing is amazing. You turn it on and it starts swinging. It stops after about 20 minutes and then if the baby stirs and starts making noise it starts slowly swinging again. Oh and it also has music! Boy he must have felt bad. LOL Actually he called me from work yesterday and sad “I realized what a tough day you were going to have with no swing for Lauren.” “I’m sorry” he says, “I’ll bring you home a brand new one tonight I promise.”

Well I have to go unpack the car and collapse.
