So Much to Do, So Little Motivation
:sun3-ani: Looks like we are getting another short reprieve from the rain. The sun is shining brightly, it’s not too hot out and I don’t feel like doing anything but sitting on my ass watching the world go by today.
We had a great visit with Jeff’s sister and her family Thursday night. I cooked a big spaghetti dinner, had way too many toddies and laughed my ass off into the wee hours of the night. We were supposed to spend the day together yesterday but the got roped into doing wedding stuff seeing as how that was the REAL reason they were in VT anyway. I can’t tell you how bummed I was. But hey I ended up with a 4 day weekend out of it.
The kids and I went and did all of the errands I needed to do this weekend so that I could just sit around the house and be lazy for the next 3 days. I have so much to do it’s not even funny but I cannot find one ounce of motivation within me. Jeff is gone to camp for the weekend so I should take advantage of having one less messy child around. But here I sit, immobile.
It doesn’t help that I stayed up until 1am last night but it wasn’t my fault. I always have a hard time sleeping when Jeff isn’t here out of fear of what will happen overnight - the house will blow up or it will get broken into - you know those lovely rational fears
So as I was flipping the channels I happened upon this comedian on HBO and I was instantly hooked. I love to watch good comedy like that and Jeff finds it irritating so unless he’s otherwise occupied I don’t get to watch stand up too often.
This guy was hysterical though. Eddie Izzard basically runs through every major historical event and gives his own personal interpretation as to how these events transpired. I could not stop laughing, I had tears rolling down my face he was so funny. If you see that his Dressed to Kill special is on HBO take the time to watch it, you will not regret it. Everyone needs a good belly laugh or 10 or 1000 like that every once in a while.
Well I need to stop rambling and get to work on my intimidatingly long list of things “To Do”. Somehow sitting in my chair, surfing blogs all weekend long does not sound overly productive does it? For those of you with a long weekend, enjoy yourselves
Relax and have fun!
