The Power of the Positive
I just got a call from my stepdaughter. They have released her this afternoon but they aren’t releasing the baby. The pediatrician is concerned about broken blood vessels on his head. He has assured her that it likely is nothing but they need to keep him for at least another day or two for observation. She is just beside herself. She was crying on the phone and apologizing to me for crying and then I was crying too.
“I’m sorry” she said. “I’m just so scared.”
So I’m going up to the hospital tonight after Jeff gets home to be with them for as long as they’ll let me. Please send us positive thoughts, vibes, prayers whatever you’ve got. I’m sure it’s nothing but this is my grandson after all
I feel really close to him and to sd too.
Jeff commented last night how I seem “bonded” to them both after the whole experience and I do feel it. I know sd has made her share of problems and mistakes for our family but after yesterday it feels like there’s a clean slate. Like the bottom line is that no matter what, being there for your family when they need you is what it’s all about. All is not forgotten but it is in perspective.

Oh Yikes! Hope things are ok with the baby.Keep us posted!
I think you might see SD become a whole new woman now, sometimes all it takes is becoming a mother yourself to become a much better daughter. Hugs Granny!! (*snort*)

You said it ALL right there - family means being there for each other when you need each other most - and that’s what it’s all about!

Congrats to the babe and family. Being a grandma is great, it’s even better when you are still young enough to keep up with the next generation.
You are one young granny!
