Another lovely day in the Northeast (not!). LOL The rain continues and the kids are getting more and more wild by the day. They want to run and jump and play and they can’t because they can’t go outside. I’ve even tried asking parents to bring some boots so we can play out in the rain (better than nothing - it’s not like they will melt) but someone always “forgets” their child’s shoes and then we are stuck in the house, again.
In trying to keep them busy we did a ladybug painting today with fingerpaints. They actually came out pretty good. The kids didn’t smear them all together and come up with brown paint everywhere. Seems if we give them one color at a time they are able to apply them separately, but if we give them a palate (which I do for free art time) they are invariably smeared together. As long as they are having fun and keeping busy, that’s the important part.
We also made tollhouse cookies today. I even had little Elizabeth pouring stuff in with my help and stirring things too. She’s only 15 months but she is really starting to get into doing what all the “big” kids do. She’s not a baby anymore
. The cookies turned out absolutely delicious. We each sampled one and then the rest will be distributed for snack this afternoon and to go home with the kids. We even made a giant one for Jeff since they are his favorite.
I am still doing my mystery shop scheduling job, I just feel so much pressure from it. Like there’s just not enough hours in the day. I will keep plugging along. We’ll see.
Until next time…

Have a great evening and thank-you for the cookies!! ((BIG HUGS))!!!
I was reading on Joan’s blog today (Gumbo Ya Ya)- link in my reads- that she was making cookies with her grandaughter out of these containers of colored dough. Almost like playdough but real cookie dough. They were able to make great little pictures like flowers, etc… Sounds like a perfect idea for you! Especially if the rain keeps up. I posted a pix of my split-level backyard today.
