I’m 38, I’ve been married for 15 years and I’m a working mom to the boy & his 3 little sisters. I have been on a job change roller coaster for the last six months and have finally landed something new, exciting and equally scary. Let’s see how this goes…

Today Was Boring - But Yesterday? Not So Bad

We had a pretty boring, quiet day today. I think the height of excitement was when we cleaned up the yard and fired up the riding lawn mower for the first time this year. Ooh watch out we are crazy on the weekends. LOL

Yesterday though, yesterday had some exciting moments. Well for us anyway. You know this is all relative. We do live in the country after all.

1. I got a phone call for daycare from someone that I had played phone tag with 2 weeks ago and then stopped calling. Well she called again and wants to interview about enrolling her 2 children full time. Good money for me!

2. J got his first paycheck from his new job. Even with deductions it’s really good money and it just brought a wave of relief over both of us. We celebrated with Chinese food from our favorite place.

3. And then later I was loading my Chinese food in the van when the girl from behind the counter comes running out. They had forgotten to put my Lo Mein in the box and she was trying to catch me before I left. Good thing - it’s my favorite part of the meal. Their Roast Pork Lo Mein rocks!

4. On my way home from the Chinese Take Out I saw a new business opening up in town. An organic food store! Woohoo! I am excited beyond words. The closest health food store and/or co-op is 45 minutes away. If you have never had organic produce - get some, now. It’s sooo much better than the stuff you get in the grocery store. It actually has flavor.

5. And the best thing? 2 out of my 4 children spent that night at their big sisters house. It was so quiet and peaceful around here with only the 2 little ones. *sigh*

Oh and there was something I wanted to share. There’s a web site that emails dinner menus each week that’s very kid friendly. They have some good stuff - go check it out.
