Nick’s coming home today! Nick’s coming home today! Not that I’m a little excited or anything. Not that I’m a little angsty over the fact that I have not heard from him at all. I told him to call home collect if he needed to talk with us. Doesn’t he know that translates to “Mom needs to hear from you. Call her.” *sigh* Apparently not. I suppose I’ll have to drill one of my daycare moms today. Her mom is one of the teachers on the trip and I’m sure she’s talked with her over the last 2 days. I don’t know if I’ll make it.

So since I know I’m going to be preoccupied all day today I’ll just share a few pictures and one link. Oh I have to tell you the reason for the link first. You know that I get up at the crack of dawn with my husband to get him off to work and enjoy some quiet time for me. Well the other morning I went to hook the dog outside for a bit when he and I heard this noise

Creepy Sound

Scared the crap out of me. It kept going on over and over, drawn out even more so than this sound byte. I swear to god at first I thought it was someone screaming. I had to stand there and listen to it for the longest time before it registered that it wasn’t human. The dog would not move or make a sound. He just sat totally still looking at me like “You aren’t leaving me out here with that, right?” It went on for a good 10 minutes then it just stopped. Thanks to the power of the internet I was able to figure out it was a fox - but OMG I was freaked out. It was right behind my house. I know we live in the country and all and have had coyotes run up and down our driveway at night but that was a first for me. *shudder* I still have the creeps.

So onto cute and cuddly things. See what Jeff found last night?

Alex in the empty water dish

Apparently Alex was upset that there wasn’t any water in the bowl so he figured he could just draw our attention with his cuteness and we would figure it out. It worked. He spends his days running away from all the little girls that want to love him and squeeze him and his nights curled up on my chest while I watch season finales. Olivia still carries him around like a baby everywhere.

Then I gotta show you this drawing I found the other day downstairs in the kids playroom. I was picking up and I saw this sketch pad out. I have always kept sketch pads and various art supplies readily available to my kids so they have some creative outlet at their disposal. And I know that 2 of my girls seem to have their father’s artistic aptitude. But I had no idea how much the youngest did until I saw this

Lauren's drawing

When I saw it I asked Olivia if she had drawn it and she said that it was Lauren’s. Now I know it’s only a face but Lauren just turned 3 at the end of March. Developmentally she’s supposed to be able to start drawing circles. A person drawn by a 3 year old typically does not have many details, if any, drawn in. This person has hair, a nose, mouth, cheeks at the end of the mouth and the eyes are what really blew me away. They have irises and pupils. I had no idea that she even had a concept of those details in anyone’s eyes.

The last thing I wanted to share was another set of earrings I made. They’re sterling silver jump rings I pieced together to get that chain look and I added iolite charms to the bottom. They were time consuming to make but I love the way they look. I just might have to keep them for myself. lol

Jump Ring Earrings

What do you think?

Well I am off to keep myself occupied until tonight when Nick gets home. I’ll be house cleaning, budget planning and blog hopping to help the time go by. Have a fantabulous day!!
