~*~ Tuesday, July 22, 2003 ~*~

We had some really nasty thunderstorms go through our area last night and we are supposed to get more for the rest of the week. In Catskill NY, which is about 45 minutes from us there were 3 houses leveled and another that had the roof torn off but it has not been confirmed as a tornado yet. There was a guy on the news last night talking about how he was driving along in the storm and all of the sudden there was this gust of wind out of nowhere that turned his truck sideways. Sounds like tornado force winds. For those of you that live where tornados occur frequently, I don’t know how you get used to it but I assume you must. It was pretty scary for us. The storm that carried the tornado warnings with it skirted just to the south of us and it was tracking northeast.

Jeff has taken today off as he is sick and tired…of working that is. LOL We always call it a mental health day. He cooked breakfast for the kids this morning and he’s been hanging out with our kids for a good part of the day.

I have made the decision to cut back on my daycare numbers. I am currently at full enrollment which means 6 kids in addition to my own 4. It’s just too many kids taking too much of my attention away from my own kids. Olivia really has the hardest time with everyone but it really seems like having them all in her house all the time is just freaking her out by the end of the day. If I am doing this for them then shouldn’t they be happy while I’m doing it? I have set up interviews with 2 families for before and after school care only and enrolling those 2 just a couple hours a day will replace the income from one child and then I have talked to my boss about increasing my scheduling work. I know it will be tough on my wrist but it’s worth it if I have more time and attention for my gang :) I am also working seriously on paying off a lot of our debt to the point that if we go according to plan we should just have the basics of mortgage, one car payment, utilities and food in 18 months. There will be money left over for repairs and savings and I won’t need to do anything but schedule at that point if I don’t want to which would be so nice.

Well sorry to go on so long. There’s lots of stuff just rumbling around in my brain :)

Until next time…
