Well we had our dose of summer yesterday and it can go right back where it came from. LOL It was in the high 80’s and humid. I forget every year how much I hate humidity and then a day like yesterday slaps me right back to the sticky reality of it all. Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons now. It used to be winter when I was a kid but now I realize how crazy that really was. LOL
American Idol was pretty good last night wasn’t it? It’s almost over!! I can’t even begin to guess now who will win. I didn’t know until last night that there was only a 2% difference in votes between Clay and Ruben. That makes it anybody’s competition right there. I wonder if the younger kids are the ones voting do you think they’d go more for Clay? He certainly has that boyish charm
Well, only 2 more days and we’ll know!
My routines are going okay. My husband didn’t go to work yesterday and there were a few things I had trouble getting done around him (you know how they are) but for the most part I did accomplish everything I wanted to for the day and still had some free time. 2 things that really hit me yesterday were that 1) Getting the house totally picked up at night instead of leaving it for the morning when I “plan to get up early to do it” makes my morning go so much smoother and I can handle it better when the baby decides she needs to eat in the middle of what I’m doing. 2) The other thing I really noticed was that I made a real effort to pick up after us all day yesterday (more than I usually do) and I was done with everything and able to relax with my husband for a while last night. Something I never usually get to do unless I let other things go.
This is a work in progress for me. I shall continue to tailor it to my needs as I go. I think that’s the whole point. Flylady gives you the framework you just have to manipulate it to work best for you. We have also been able to do an art project each day this week so far (yes I know this is only day 2…LOL) with minimal stress and it has been prepared ahead instead of scrambling at the last minute. I guess that’s really what the routines and everything are all about - being proactive instead of reactive.
1. Large or small family? I was raised in a very small family but now have a large family of my own
2. Potato chips or pretzels? Chips
3. House or apartment? House
4. Zebras or giraffes? Giraffes
5. Candles or potpourri? Candles
6. Flowers or trees? Flowers
7. Right or left-handed? Right
8. Model trains or dolls/stuffed animals? Stuffed animals
9. Comedy or drama? Comedy
10. Thought-provoking question of the week: The city of Boston has recently banned smoking in all restaurants and bars. Would you want to see such a law passed in your city/town/country, or not? Actually in VT bars are the only public place smoking is still allowed.
Until next time…

Did you watch "American Idol"? I’m "Aiken 4 Clay"… I even have a blinkie that says so! LOL
I’m the same way I love the summer weather but please get rid of the humidity. I’m happy to see that it is warming up a bit though. Hope you have a humid free day. (Hugz)
