I hope everyone had a very enjoyable Memorial Day holiday. Mine was pretty uneventful overall. On Saturday I went grocery shopping and what a nightmare the store was. Everyboy in a 50 mile radius must have been there. It took Olivia and I forever to get our stuff.
On Sunday we went over to my mother in law’s house for a cookout. Fortunately the rain held off and it even cleared off for a while and got pretty hot out. We had a very yummy lunch of burgers, dogs and scallop kabobs which were my favorite part. Everybody was on their best behavior which is pretty rare in Jeff’s family.
Yesterday my parents stopped by for a visit after putting a flag on my Grandfather’s grave. We had a really nice visit with them and they brought us a yummy pastry and we had that with coffee on a very wet, rainy afternoon. Jeff put in our new front door. It looks so beautiful. It wasn’t my first choice but I guess I have expensive taste as the one I really wanted was more than twice the one Jeff ordered. LOL Next he’s going to build a little porch off the front of the house and then a walkway leading out to our driveway. It’s not uncommon in New England for there not to be a path leading away from your front door. I however, have always wanted one and it seems that this year I’m getting my wish. Seems hubby has finally understood the importance of curb appeal when your business operates out of your home. LOL
I am feeling pretty stressed out today about my second job I have. It is for a market research company that I used to work full time for and it is scheduling mystery shops. It is getting tougher and tougher to schedule every month and for the lousy couple hundred I make (I know that’s a lot of money but for 30 days of stress it’s not worth it) it just doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense anymore. I feel guilty though because Jeff got me the laptop so I could do work for that job anytime, anywhere in the house. Maybe I’ll give it another month (if they don’t fire me first) and see if it makes any difference.
Well I’ve gotta go get back to work on that job.
Until next time…

Hi Julie! Congrats on the new front door! We’ve always had a sidewalk or path leading up to our house… I guess that’s the difference when you live in another part of the country, huh? The sidewalk really helps keep from tracking mud and stuff into the house. *Ü*

Wow, you don’t have walkways to your front door? I can’t even picture that. Congrats on the new door
I cannot wait to have a house where I can rejoice over something like a new door. I live in Illinois and the weather here is beautiful. Sunny with a cool breeze. 75 degrees. I am loving it.
