Well the nice weather is gone as quickly as it appeared. Today is 60 and rainy and wouldn’t you know it was the day I was supposed to have my lawn mowed? Guess we’ll have to wait a while now since there’s rain forcasted for the next 5 days. My yard already looks more like a field than a yard so what’s a few more days. LOL My husband can’t do the mowing himself right now or it would already have been done and there is no way with all the kids I have here during the day that I could do it. So we wait…
Guess what my brilliant husband came up with yesterday? He came home and informed me that our house is looking run down and started listing off things that needed to be done to get it looking better again. And do you know what? They are all things I have asked him and asked him to do over the years! Here’s some of his list: Paint the trim around the front door (asked him to do that starting 2 1/2 years ago), pressure wash the siding on the house (5 years ago), replace the windows (when we moved in 8 years ago - he’s a glass guy by trade), plant new shrubs out front to replace all of the ones that died (4 years ago - we supposedly have never had the money) and on and on and on. Well thank goodness he came home and enlightened me, I had no idea. LOL Why is it we always have to make things seem like they’re their idea before they will do anything?? Frustrating!!
I’m having a frustrating day with a little boy that comes to my house also. Lately he’s been so difficult. Constantly breaking the rules, talking back, doing things intentionally that he was just told not to do looking for a reaction. I have talked with his parents and they say he only acts like that here (but they let slip things he does at home on occasion that are exactly the same) and then they just say “You need to listen okay?” Well obviously it’s not okay because he doesn’t do it all anymore. Mom mentioned once that dad threatens all the time with punishment, you know like sending him to his room or putting him in time out or something but never follows through. Do you think he’s testing that out here now? I really don’t know what to do but this little boy that used to be so sweet just isn’t anymore and I miss the other little boy. I feel like it’s me, like I’ve done something
.
Well tonight is the last night for American Idol. Who do you think it’s going to be? I thought Clay did very well last night and so did Ruben. Great strategy for Clay though going last because his version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” was awesome and what a perfomance to be left last on everybody’s minds. Did anyone vote? I thought about it but figured I would never get through anyway. Oh well, I hope Clay wins. Good thing it’s almost over for Simon too. I noticed last night that he can’t come up with any original criticisms anymore - just the same few over and over and over….LOL
Until next time…
