What’s The Weather Like?
:sun: :clddrk-lghtng: :sun: Yes that’s a lot of weather for one day I know. Started off beautiful this morning then we were lucky enough to enjoy a nasty thunderstorm complete with hail and a power outage. The power was restored quickly and the sun is shining again and the sky is blue. The weather has become so strange here in the NE.
The other night there were 2 confirmed tornados that touched down in Northern NY on the Canadian border. There was a tornado, albeit small, in southern Vermont a couple of weeks ago as well as Ulster County NY. Now correct me if I’m wrong but there has never been a mention of a 2nd Tornado Alley forming in the NE has there? The weather has changed so much around here since I was a child. Winters are colder and snowier, spring storms are much more severe. Over the weekend 87 confirmed tornados in the Midwest. Those poor people. What is happening? Is it global warming? Is the end near? Should I like the great Dodo birds in Ice Age gather my melons in preparation? Crazy.
I’ve never been scared by the possibilities a storm carried before. I suppose it’s because I never cared about losing anything or anyone before like I do now about my children and their home they’ve always lived in. Growing up I never had to go to the basement during a storm. Now we go automatically and there isn’t even a real threat around here like in the Midwest.
But every week until July there will be storms “with rotation” and we will watch the minutes tick by on the clock until the warnings expire. I just can’t help but worry as to what happens if each passing year gets worse than the last? Will the West Coast completely dry up from repeated droughts? Will the Midwest be leveled by a Cyclone? Will the Northeast experience the next Ice Age?
And I wonder how do I get back to that place my children are in where the biggest crisis of my day is that I can’t find Barbie’s missing black pump?

Yikes. Stay safe girl. Rest in the safety of His everlasting arms. Let him hold you through every storm.

In the West Coast state where my parents live, the average for tornados is one a year. This year they had four or five already. While one of the them caused some damage, all the tornados have been quite small compared to my neck of the woods.
When I was a kid the only weather I had to worry about was the occasional thunderstorm, the sometimes powerful windstorms, and of course, there was Mount St. Helens. But she’s a whole different story altogether.

Well, you know… Barbie’s black pumps are important too. Especially if she wants to wear her black satin jumpsuit this weekend
